Monotype Prints

Monotypes are prized because of their unique textural qualities and the limited number of copies (1-2 prints usually). They are made by drawing or painting on glass, a plate of smooth metal or stone with printer’s ink or oil paint. Then the drawing is pressed by hand or using a printing press onto a sheet of slightly damp or dry absorbent paper.
